I am Gina Weisskopf. I was born on December 26, 1968 in Bucharest, where I also lived and worked. Since 2011, I have been living in Switzerland. My passion for painting led me to various special courses at the School of Fine Arts and the Military Art School in Bucharest, Romania. I have participated in various solo and group exhibitions in Bucharest as well as in Switzerland, Germany, and France. My works have been acquired by art lovers in Romania, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Additionally, I studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg to continue my education in painting. I mainly paint with oil on canvas, but also on wooden crates, furniture, or interior decorations.
Painting as a profession? Painting gives me freedom, I don't need a boss or a clock, I always choose the subject of the painting spontaneously, depending on what I feel at the moment.
I don't do projects, I simply paint what I feel and think at that moment. In general, in art and painting, in theater, film, dance, and literature, you have so much freedom and you can be whoever you want. You can bring fragments back to life so that people and the younger generation learn not to forget. The idea, however, is that if it's commercial art, you give the audience what it needs at the moment, without thinking, just for relaxation, color, sound. Everyone who offers truly unique art, something different for the audience, something that is not forgotten but always remembered with pleasure.
